Civic Engagement Committee Meeting

Civic Engagement Agenda January 23, 2025

Greetings and Attendance.

The following goals were previously discussed and many of those goals were accomplished in 2024.

1. Civic Education and awareness: educate the community about their civic duties, the political process, and how to hold elected officials accountable for their actions.

2. Voter registration and participation: Develop strategies to increase voter turnout, particularly among our youth and the underrepresented, through outreach campaigns, events, and partner with local organizations. eg: Educational facilities, libraries, malls, county events, church fairs, and local community affairs.

We must Stress the importance of voting and participating in local, state, and national elections.

3. Advocate for policies that promote racial justice and equality : eg equal voter rights and access to resources. These are some of the ways voices of marginalized groups can be heard.
