Next Meeting: Jan 20, 2026

Join the NAACP Middletown Branch and guest speaker Crystal Guiga, Esq, for a conversation about estate planning for people of color. Protect your legacy and plan for your future!

This meeting takes place via Zoom, and is open to the public. For more information see our event page.

Crystal Guiga is the founding attorney of Guiga Law PLLC, an estate planning practice dedicated to helping families create plans that protect their loved ones and preserve their legacy.

As both an attorney and a mom, she understands the concerns families face when planning for the future—from selecting guardians for children to caring for aging family members to preserving wealth and values across generations. But her passion for estate planning also comes from personal experience: her own family has made many of the mistakes she now helps clients avoid. It’s her mission to prevent other families from learning the lessons her family learned the hard way—the confusion, conflict, and chaos that comes from not having a plan in place.

Crystal earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School and holds degrees from Shawnee State University and Long Island University. Her career has been rooted in public service and community advocacy. She spent seven years as a public school teacher in Brooklyn, New York, working with students with disabilities in underserved communities, and also served in government affairs for The Food Bank for New York City—work that deepened her commitment to addressing systemic inequities and serving those most in need.

At Guiga Law PLLC, Crystal’s approach is education first—because educated decisions are the best decisions. She believes that passing on intellectual, spiritual, and human wealth is just as important as financial assets. Her mission is to ensure every family has a great plan in place and to build lifelong relationships with clients as a trusted advisor, helping families protect who they love and what they have—not only today, but for their whole life and beyond.
